Offbeat Pulga by PACK

Lucky was handling everything on his own when we visited at the end of February, and although that seemed like a lot for one person, he still gave us great service. We stayed two nights, and this is one of the better budget stays in Pulga if you want somewhere quiet and secluded. The food was great, especially the hot chocolate. A few practical things need attention. The toilet flush in our first room didn't work, so we were moved to another. Soap, towels, and slippers weren't in the room, though they brought them when we asked. The menu has eggs but no other non-veg food. The rooms could use regular upkeep and renovation, even in the off season, and adding staff based on bookings would help avoid delays. I mention these as basic things to sort out before guests arrive, so the place can make a better first impression :)

The trail walk to Teddy’s (Offbeat) is part of the deal, and I found it well worth the effort. The stay sits between Pulga and Tulga, so both villages are easy to explore. Around it, you get forests, quiet, mountain views, and slow mornings, with a real raw Himachali feel. Mr. Ankul made the place especially memorable. He was easy to talk to and helpful without making hospitality feel like a transaction. You can see that he cares about guests and treats his staff well. The common areas are cozy, and the whole property has that peaceful feeling that made us spend more time there than we planned. The homely meals were really tasty in the mountain weather. Check out the nearby cafés around Pulga too, but don't miss eating at Teddy’s. If you want a personal, peaceful stay that feels less commercial, this is a lovely place, one I remember for how it felt.

Ankul makes you feel at home and really looks after you. We had some great conversations with him about Himalayan ecology and sustainable living, and even got to jam together. The sunset views are unforgettable, and Anurag was a lovely host. Offbeat by Pack takes a trek down to reach, but the view is stunning, with horses and cows wandering peacefully around. It feels laid-back and far from all the noise.
