The rooms were spacious and we had no issues, plus the guest house is within walking distance of many Udaipur sights. What really made it, though, was how Vivek and his family welcomed us like their own. Vivek shared lots of local places to visit, helped us rent a motorbike, and did our laundry, which came back the same day. He also helped us plan the trip to chittorgarh fort and arranged a tuktuk to the train station. One evening we joined his cooking class in his kitchen with his sister in law and had great fun making traditional dishes. Very easy to recommend.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Vivek was incredibly helpful and clearly cares about his guests. He took us around on a day trip to see Udaipur's highlights, served lovely food, and sorted transport for our next destination. The rooms were lovely too, in a great old town location near the water. We can't recommend vagat guest house enough.

The homeowner really went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. We also loved the food and the hospitality. Their day trip is well worth doing, with a genuinely local look around Udaipur and the surrounding area. Such an honest, welcoming homestay, highly recommended.

The rooms and facilities are about what you'd expect from a typical Indian guesthouse, but this is a reassuring place to stay in a noisy tourist town. The owner was kind and honest, and helped with everything from finding less obvious tourist spots to arranging restaurants and transport and negotiating prices. He answered our requests politely and never pushed anything, which I really appreciated.

A good, budget friendly place in the old city, close to most tourist spots. Gangaur ghat is very near, so you can head there whenever you like for a peaceful lake view in Udaipur. There are also lots of nearby scooty rental shops if you want to get to other attractions.
