OYO 1422 Hotel Mandiram Palace

The rooftop restaurant has stunning views, and the location is good, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here. The wifi didn’t work at all. Staff were rude, dismissive and unhelpful. They acted inconvenienced when we asked questions and seemed annoyed about showing us the hot water switch, which nobody had told us about. We had a driver voucher for the next city, but staff took it and refused to return it even after we repeatedly explained it had nothing to do with them. They spoke over us instead of listening. When we asked about laundry, they kept saying it would be cheap but wouldn’t tell us the price. A small load came back costing $32 AUD (2040 INR), which felt like an absolute scam. Breakfast was included, but most of our first morning’s order was wrong even though we repeated it and the waiter repeated it back to us. They also charged us for a bottle of water we hadn’t asked for and assumed was complimentary. On our last day, breakfast opened late and we missed the included meal.

The room was spacious, with a king-size bed, a hot shower, and everything kept clean. Staff service was excellent. The lakefront location is fantastic, and dinner at the rooftop Lemon restaurant is worth it. I’d definitely recommend Mandiram Palace Hotel, it’s a great deal.

Shakti Singh deserves a special mention for the great service, and the management kept everything running smoothly. The place has a peaceful feel, with lovely rooftop views and a refreshing lakeside setting. A really relaxing getaway, I’d recommend it. ✨✨

Breakfast is included and was great, and service in the rooftop restaurant was laid-back but adequate. It’s a no-frills budget hotel in the old town, on lake Nicholas. The room was comfortable and had a private bathroom.
