The Executive Deluxe room (209) fell short of what I expected, and the online photos were misleading. Mr Dinesh Arya was the only person I found helpful; he listened positively and addressed the issues. The rooftop restaurant and food there were excellent, and Mr Nethan was the best waiter, with awesome service. But on December 25, being unable to serve certain items during peak hours was unexpected for a 4-star hotel. Other waiters seemed to wander around. Breakfast gets zero from me: tasteless food, almost the same items the next day with only one changed, and tea cups that weren’t properly cleaned. I can share photos if anyone’s interested. I wouldn’t recommend it for an enjoyable Udaipur stay or holiday.

The common areas look made for Instagram, which gives the impression of a nice hotel until you get to the room. Then it’s a shock. The rooms are extremely dated, the faucet only gives hot water, the shower sprays everywhere but down, and an open bathroom window lets in mosquitoes and outside noise. A guard blocks it from the inside, so a person can’t get through. The AC barely works, and the linens and towels were stained. Calling this a 4-star hotel is a stretch. I’ve stayed in better 2-star places. I don’t recommend it unless you’re just stopping by for a drink or photos. I gave it 2 stars because I didn’t get bedbugs, and that’s about all I can say for it.

The food at the restaurant was awful. All the tandoori dishes were raw, and the Mutton Seekh Kabab was stale. The Amritsari fish was raw too. Captain Kamal Chauhan was not hospitable and seemed more concerned with closing operations than serving properly cooked food.

The plates were generous and delicious, and the restaurant service was perfect. Karan was especially attentive and considerate. My room at the Raghu Mahal Hotel was clean and spacious, and so was the bathroom. There’s also a rooftop swimming pool and lounge bar, both just right.

Small but well kept, Hotel Raghu Mahal gave us a good experience overall. We didn’t try the food, so I can’t comment on it. The video shows the suite room.
