The Royal Jag Villa

Being close to Ambrai Ghat, Bagore Ki Haveli, Lake Pichola, Jagdish Temple, Gangaur Ghat, and City Palace was the main draw. Everything was within easy reach. The room was decent, though the curtains were quite dirty, and it didn't feel fresh until staff used room freshener. The food was disappointing in both taste and portion size for the high prices, so I'd suggest eating elsewhere. Rooms should be cleaned and aired a few hours before guests arrive, and the food needs improvement. I'd probably only recommend staying here if the location is your main reason.

The room was simple but comfortable, especially the bed. Breakfast was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the price felt like very good value.

There was a little view of the lake from the roof, but none from the rooms. The rooftop restaurant looked scruffy and almost abandoned. My room was okay, with a small, comfortable bed and clean sheets, but the bathroom wasn't clean: the wall tiles were dirty and mouldy, and somehow the toilet leaked onto the floor. Noise made it hard to rest. Staff ran up and down the stairs until 11pm, shouting to each other and making banging sounds that echoed through the stairwell. Neighbours were shouting until midnight too. Even earplugs didn't help much. Sadly, it wasn't a good stay.

Rooms were clean and the AC worked really well. The hotel is basic, as you'd expect for the price, but it's very good value. The location and price were both good, and staff were friendly, helpful, and always around when I needed them.
