The hotel’s main draw is its location in the Old City near Lake Palace Rd, within walking distance of City Palace, Bagore Ki Haveli, Jagdish Temple, and other attractions. Prices are affordable, and some guests liked the helpful staff, rooftop restaurant and views, and pleasant stays. The listed facilities include free Wi-Fi, AC rooms, a rooftop restaurant and bar, an outdoor swimming pool, breakfast, parking, and a 24/7 front desk. Feedback is mixed, though. Many travellers report dirty bathrooms, poor maintenance, peeling paint, or mattress problems, and some say rooms are small or not worth the price. Service also seems inconsistent, with some guests finding staff uncooperative or unprofessional. Several reviews describe bugs or bedbugs and very poor hygiene, with some guests leaving early. Ratings vary by booking site, from around 3.9 out of 5 to 7-7.4/10. Some visitors like the location and price, while others strongly dislike the hygiene and service.

This is a unit of Tripli Shambhu Villas, tucked behind the main hotel. I stayed two nights and didn’t have a great experience. I couldn’t add videos because of a strange “at most 30 seconds long” rule, even though mine were all under 30 seconds. Never mind. I booked a family room or suite, but the actual room didn’t match the photos. It was poorly lit, damp, and cold; little sunlight came in because other properties surround it. The room sat behind a wall, with no window opening in the common area, and felt segregated from the differently designed rooms elsewhere. It had no number at check-in and wasn’t marked properly. The bathroom fixtures were loose and hanging, toiletries were sparse compared with the photos on google and Agoda, and both bath and hand towels were dirty. The shower was old, rusty, and mouldy, and sprayed water outside the bathtub, leaving the whole bathroom wet. The bed-frame creaked whenever I moved, making it hard to fall asleep. Cold air also leaked in through the window. I slept on the single bed beside the queen bed and woke with three bites on my neck and shoulder, two on my fingers, and one on my right hand. If you’re on the second floor, kitchen noise from the third can be constant. There was thumping, gas cylinders being shifted, and things being ground in a mortar and pestle. It started early in the morning too, so it could disturb anyone trying to sleep, especially light sleepers. The service staff were polite and prompt. Reception heard my complaints but gave the standard response that they would take care of things, then asked whether I could post a review right then so they could take a screenshot. They also arranged an auto for sightseeing in Udaipur. We ate at the restaurant once. The food tasted good, though it was a little costly: 800 for paneer curry, a few chapati, and two lassi. There are good eateries nearby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hotel is close to the old city and main attractions, but it’s on the city’s busiest road and the parking area is cramped.

I was in town to visit relatives nearby, and the location made the hotel very convenient. Everything was well maintained. The front desk helped book cabs and pointed me to some nice local eateries.

The location is convenient, close to City Palace and other sights. But inside, the rooms looked different from the photos, with dated furniture, dampness in many rooms, and low doorways that tall guests need to watch out for. There were no doormats or rugs, and no window views. Room service was poor too, with staff knocking repeatedly over unnecessary things. Your call.

The room price felt high for what we got, and staff didn't act on our requests. There was a lot of noise coming into the room at night, so sleep was difficult. The property felt more like a dharmsala than a hotel. One of the worst stays I've had.
