Goroomgo Gomukh Uttarkashi

The hosts were nice and helpful, and the wifi connectivity was good. Gomukh hotel is a decent budget stay near uttarkashi bus stand, close to the center, including temple main ghat and the market. I didn't think the room was good value for money: it was small, didn't have enough cool air, was a bit noisy, and the bed sheet was dirty when I arrived. They changed it when I asked, though. It worked for a one-night stop in uttarkashi.

Swapnil, the receptionist, was not respectful or good with customers, and spoke vulgarly. I paid a lot for a small kitchen size room and there was no hot water early in the morning, so my stay was uncomfortable and not worthwhile. As a solo traveler, I’d say Gomukh hotel is not worth it. Kindly don't take a room.

The food was decent when we chose the right thing. The Gomukh Special thali was good, but it took hours to come, so order about three hours ahead. Being close to the bus stand was convenient too. The rest of the stay was pretty miserable. The room and toilet weren't clean, and the bathroom door lock broke as I was closing it. Rooms are upstairs on the second floor, reached by steep, narrow stairs with no elevator. They might help carry bags at check-in, but it's hard if you're traveling with elderly parents. There was no backup power, and in the hot weather we couldn't sleep. Don't expect air conditioning. On our last day there was no water when we were getting ready to leave, so bathing and using the washroom became difficult. I booked after seeing the reviews, but this didn't feel like a two-star hotel experience.

I had a really nice time here. You should come and enjoy the facilities and your trip.
