Hotel Kailasha

The riverbank setting gives the hotel a very good location and view. The rooms were okay, but noisy, and the hotel felt more like a Dharmshala. The washing kitchen is on the second floor among the rooms, so washing or people moving out of it make a lot of noise. The food didn’t taste good either. There are several other hotels in the area with Delux category rooms.

The low price doesn’t make up for the poor quality and maintenance. My room was tiny, outdated, and dirty. It wasn’t worth the hassle. Very cheap hotel, please don’t visit.

The rooms and food were neat and clean, and the service was very good. Arun Sharma was a great person and arranged our stay.

I booked three three-bed rooms and one four-person quad room for two nights, 05/05/26 and 06/05/26, about a month and a half in advance. When we arrived, Mr Arun, the owner, said a landslide had damaged the water connection and there was a water problem. But what we saw was different: 25 rooms had already been allotted to other people, and according to him only four rooms had a water connection issue. We were 14 people, nine adults and five kids, including seven women and only two men. After we argued, Mr Arun gave us only two rooms, like a dormitory. It was 9 pm, and we had to leave at 3 am for gangotri, so I had to share the rooms we were given with the women as well. I also took a map plan, but the food was over. Please don’t get cheated by booking hotels like this.
