Food is served at the restaurant until 3:00 AM, which can be a real lifesaver if you reach Kashi late and are hungry. I loved my two-day stay at Uma Palace and would check in again when I’m back in Varanasi. The room was wonderfully clean, with no compromises, and the hotel has great amenities for the price. Staff were polite and available around the clock to pick up customers. The restaurant food tasted very good and was good quality, though the prices seemed only somewhat reasonable. My only downside was the distance from the temple, but you can find transport even at midnight.

I regret booking this hotel and came away feeling awful. The place was filthy, with no doormats, and water seeping into the corridors. I saw a lot of shady couples going in and out of rooms, and even found a used condom in my washroom. One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The rooms were neat and clean, and the ambience was nice. Parking was a bit of a problem, though. The food tasted great but was really expensive. I’d go to shahi daya restaurant instead, where the food is good and reasonably priced.

It’s affordable for this area, since the other hotels cost about 1.5 times as much. The rooms are big, but in winter they turned the AC completely off, and the rooms got hotter at night. Service was good, while breakfast was just okay.

Our booking was cancelled at the last minute while I was travelling with kids and extended family. It took us all by surprise, though luckily we found good rooms somewhere else. The staff and management behaved in a truly disgusting way. Fab hotels were the real reason for all the chaos, and I’ve decided to avoid the hotels listed there too. Stay away from these shady startups and hotels, and stay safe.
