Holy City Paying Guest House

The way the management handled my lost property was deeply concerning. I stayed for one day in the first week of February and accidentally left a shirt in my room, one with significant personal value. I contacted the hotel that evening, but they said nothing had been found. I knew exactly where I had left it, so I followed up with the specific spot and politely asked them to check again. They have ignored me entirely. If you care about your belongings and expect professional accountability, I'd look elsewhere. The staff's lack of integrity around lost items is a major red flag.

From the terrace, restaurant, and rooms, you can enjoy views of the Ganga and ghats, and the food was good in both portion and taste. The guest house is near Assi Ghat, more precisely sant Ravidas ghat, about 700 meters away. I visited Varanasi for Dev dipabali and found the rooms cozy, well maintained, and hygienic. Owner Rahul bhai was polite, helpful, and honest, and the information he gave me was correct. I found it budget-friendly, with rooms around 3000 including GST and commission during Dev dipabali. It has a restaurant too. The only drawback I noticed was the lobby area, which needs maintenance.

The ambience was good and there were enough amenities, but one geyser wasn't working at all. The attendant was not courteous or helpful, and the geyser switch hadn't been turned on at the main board by reception. In the severe winter cold, it was a horrible experience for everyone.

At a good price, this is a decent guesthouse. It has gated parking, and the prompt service and closeness to the ganges are its best points.
