The Century Plaza Hotel

The location is good, but the stay was poor value for money. The room was tiny and smelled unpleasant, the washroom was dirty, and its exhaust fan didn’t work. They charged ₹400 extra per room for early check-in, yet wouldn’t allow us to check in early even for one room while we agreed to take the second at the usual time. There were no complimentary services, not even a free bottle of water. Service and hygiene both need serious improvement.

I felt uncomfortable and unsafe when someone kept knocking randomly on the door. The room itself was cramped and stuffy, with a dirty washroom and missing basics, including hand wash, shampoo, tissues, and tea or coffee. The AC kept turning itself off, and the wardrobe handle was broken, so I couldn’t open it or use it. The room phone didn’t work either, which meant I couldn’t order room service or food. A very poor stay.

The location was my favorite part, close to Shivala Ghaat and the good spots nearby. Lovely ambience, a great stay, polite staff, and nice food.

The washroom had cockroaches and spiders, and there wasn’t even a mirror in there. At midnight, a mirror in the washroom suddenly broke during our stay, and they asked us to pay for it. The rooms were damp and hadn’t been prepared before check-in. The AC remote didn’t work, there was no heater, and when we requested hot water they said it was summer, nobody used it, and they didn’t run the geyser. Kettle, tea, coffee, bucket, and cups were all missing from the room, so we had to ask for each thing before they brought it.
