Elixir Cliff Beach Resort and Spa

The sunset high tea and pakoras were a lovely touch, and the sunsets themselves were among the best parts of our visit. We stayed for 3N 4D at Elixir Cliff Beach Resort & Spa and had a memorable time. Our sea-facing room also looked over the pool. For a better view, ask for a room on a higher floor. The staff were helpful, and breakfast had a great spread. I’d recommend it for a stay on South Cliff.

The route down to the beach is quite adventurous, and the resort has private beach access. I also enjoyed the tasty banana fritters/fritters at high tea. Elixir Cliff Beach Resort in Kerala is a huge, beautifully kept property, with ocean views from almost everywhere. Waking up with the ocean right outside my room was incredible. The pool, evening lighting and large garden add to the peaceful atmosphere. My room was clean but looked a little plain with all the white; warmer colors or some decor would make it feel cozier during the day. The hospitality was great, and it’s a beautiful place to experience at least once.

We paid ₹6,500 for one night through Agoda, trusting the 5-star rating, and regretted it. In Room 3009 the AC barely cooled. Staff adjusted the settings and said it would work, but it didn’t. At 35°C, the front desk said every room was occupied, there was no spare AC or technician, and we’d have to spend the night like that. When I asked for the manager at 10 PM, they refused and said he’d come the next morning. Staff even admitted that this isn’t really a 5-star hotel, despite what Google shows. Their proposed fix was for us to stay in a hostel. Completely unacceptable: misleading ratings, awful service and no accountability. This property doesn’t deserve basic hotel status, let alone five stars. Avoid. Rooms: 1/5 | Service: 1/5 | Location: 2/5

We booked four rooms for a family trip yesterday, and the stay was a nightmare from the start. This is not a five-star hotel. The property seems to coast on its location while neglecting guests, and our family stay was ruined. The staff were cold when we arrived and focused on demanding full payment upfront. There was no welcome, just a transaction. When we complained about the AC and cleanliness, they were indifferent and slow to respond. They seemed money-minded and poorly trained in hospitality. The rooms had visibly dirty linens and stained curtains. The pool was filthy and full of sand, with no sign of recent filtration or cleaning. One room’s AC was broken, and it took over two hours for staff to address it while our family waited in the heat. The ceiling fans were heavily rusted and looked decades old, especially poor for the premium price. We expected sealed mineral water at a place claiming five-star status, but got one bottle that looked refilled from a common dispenser. Nobody replenished it or provided safe bottled drinking water during our stay. It lacks the facilities, service and basic hygiene even a budget hotel should have. Save your money and stay somewhere else.
