Vedanta Wake up - Varkala, Helipad North Cliff

The food options are basically zero, and the kitchen wasn’t in a condition where I’d want to cook. Even getting a cup of tea means going at least 400 meters. I didn’t like the hut accommodation at all, and it’s not a good place for families. I’d say it’s better suited to solo travelers or groups of friends.

We originally booked three nights and ended up staying six, which says a lot about Varkala and Vedanta wake up. We were in the Bamboo huts, with spacious, very clean rooms, large enough bathrooms, and a TV. The air-con and WiFi both worked really well. The hotel is centrally located, with tourist places and the cliff easy to reach. It’s a great choice for a stay in lovely Varkala at a sensible price. I’d consider visiting other Vedanta wake up hotels in Kerala too.

The place could feel much better with a bit of attention to the outside areas. The lawn needs some cleaning, and lights on the terrace plus seats on the lawn would give travelers somewhere to sit and mingle. As it is, the atmosphere feels a bit lacking. The manager was knowledgeable and helpful. The bed linens, room, and bathroom were clean. There’s a separate smoking area, cable TV, a kitchen, and a 24*7 reception.

The managers are nice, the rooms are clean, and the AC works well. You can relax in the garden or on the rooftop. It’s a super cool house, though 600 rupies per bed feels a little expensive for the comfort.
