Abad Brookside

The staff were friendly and courteous all through our stay, and the meals were flavorful and very well prepared. The chef deserves a special mention for the taste and quality. With beautiful nature all around and a calm, refreshing atmosphere, this was a truly relaxing and memorable getaway. Highly recommend it for a peaceful break.

We stayed at Abad Brookside, Lakkidi from 3rd to 5th January 2026, and the quiet setting high above the valley was a real pleasure. The short, steep drive up is absolutely worth it. Our comfortable, well-appointed room sat beside a gentle stream that made mornings feel special. Mr. Joshy and his team looked after us warmly and with great attention to detail. The food was outstanding, with a wide, thoughtful menu and fresh, flavorful dishes. Room service was prompt too, even though the restaurant is a short walk from the cottage. A serene getaway in Wayanad, and one we'd highly recommend.

A heads-up about the final stretch of the drive: the last mile is a rough road and not for the faint-hearted, so be ready for a bumpy ride. Once there, though, the cottages are beautifully designed across the rolling terrain, with landscaped greenery, colorful flowers, forest, and a gentle brook all around. The rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The Christmas gala dinner was fabulous and something we'll remember for a long time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I'm especially grateful to the people who came to help in the middle of the night when my car broke down unexpectedly and had to be brought there.

The river nearby and all the surrounding nature make for a peaceful, calming stay. It's tucked up on a hill away from the city, with a relaxed feel and no rush. The food was fantastic. A lovely place to unwind and reconnect with nature, highly recommended if you're after a quiet escape.
