Fosshotel Eastfjords

The lamb was decent, though a little chewy. We also tried the lobster soup, which was very creamy and mild, without much lobster flavor. Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out, too. We stayed one night, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Aurora, but couldn't switch off the light on our room's balcony. That was really silly.

There’s a little museum inside the hotel, including an underground ship mock-up, which was an interesting surprise. The village nearby is charming and has a fascinating history. The hotel itself has plenty of character, and the rooms have the amenities you'd expect from a good hotel. Breakfast at the restaurant was a nice start to the day. We'd happily stay again when travelling through the area.

The village is pretty, and the setting is stunning. We were pleasantly surprised that this chain hotel felt welcoming rather than anonymous, with friendly staff and a lovely fjord-facing room. Breakfast was great, though very busy, and dinner was great too. We were there for a 60th birthday trip, and the staff kindly left a little cake in the fridge. Such a generous gesture. A real gem, and I'd highly recommend it.

The fjord views were magical, and breakfast, coffee, and the staff were all wonderful. Thank you for the honeymoon gift! The long dark-haired woman from the kitchen was fantastic and made us a lovely gift plate.
