Anitas Guesthouse

The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was fine. I took my shower at Blue Lagoon, which was required. Her father picked me up at the airport very early, and she drove me to and from the Blue Lagoon, which I really appreciated. There was food in the kitchen. I remember it being a little dirty, but it was tolerable. I think they had a sponge for washing dishes, no cloth, and nowhere to leave things to dry. I ate dinner out. Still, it was a good experience overall. My daughter stayed at the end of March too and had no complaints. March 2019.

The beds were extremely comfortable, and we chose the room on the far left after our host showed us around. A young man welcomed us while we were unloading the car, opened the door, and gave us a quick, helpful tour. Since no other guests were expected that night, we could pick a room. I only tried our beds, though I imagine the others are similar. There’s a roomy common area with two big armchairs, where I nodded off for a while. It’s nicely decorated in a fairly consistent style, with two tables and four chairs each, plus two more tables and chairs in the kitchen. The oven and toaster both worked well, and there was enough cutlery and tableware for a full house. There’s even a recycling bin. A cozy, inexpensive place to stay, with no faults or complaints from us.

Anita was so friendly and gave us really useful pointers for our day trip the next morning. My mom and I spent one night at Anita's guesthouse about a month ago, on our first night in Iceland, and we both thought it was the best guesthouse we stayed at in the country. The place was very clean, and the beds were amazingly comfortable.

The owner leaves a useful booklet with tips on where to eat and where to skip, which came in handy. There’s tasty food nearby, sightseeing close by, and local shops with really friendly people. The location is lovely, and we felt very welcome throughout our stay. Thank you so much.
