Landhotel

We had a wonderful time at this clean, modern hotel, set in an amazing landscape and serving excellent food. The staff were especially helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to make our stay good for us and our little son, who had lots of fun. Thank you, and chócala to Tomas!

During our week in Iceland, this was easily the best place we stayed. Great value, awesome amenities and amazing staff. Adel helped make the visit awesome. Dinner was delish, and we had fun playing pool and darts. The sauna was available to us, and the included breakfast buffet was huge and tasty. We’ll visit again if we return.

The northern lights showed up on both nights, and the wake-up alarm and TV cameras made it easy to keep an eye out. Breakfast was really good, with scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, crepes and more. We also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. It’s a little pricey, though that seems standard for Iceland and somewhere this remote. The burger, fish bites and chocolate lava cake were all worth trying. Thomas was an excellent server both evenings, thank you to him. I’d skip the sauna and hot tub. The extra charge surprised me at this hotel price, since those are usually included. The saunas are tiny, maybe room for 1-3 people, and the hot tub wasn’t anything special. Getting in felt icy and cold. Lovely hotel otherwise, and I’d stay again.

The food at the restaurant was great, and we got a friendly welcome at reception. The price was good too, and they offer an aurora wake-up call. A couple of small drawbacks: our room was a bit cold and had no tissues. The pool table equipment could use some attention.
