GentleSpace Guest Apartments Ísafjördur

It’s in a residential area, so it was very quiet, and the place was clean, organized and comfortable. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a good WiFi connection. It came with everything we needed, including a wardrobe, microwave, electric kettle, coffee and tea, and a fridge. There’s also a kitchenette just outside the room. The bathroom was big and had a heated floor. The only thing we didn’t like was that neither basin had hot water. The GPS location seemed off, but that wasn’t the owner’s fault.

We stayed in the same owners’ self-catering apartment at 20 Tungata, in a nearby residential block, rather than in the guesthouse. It was excellent. The kitchen was set up like a proper home kitchen, with all the equipment, cutlery and crockery you’d have at home. There was satellite TV, a large comfortable bed and loads of wardrobe space. They’d also left candles and a lighter, along with tourist information and an Iceland guidebook. Everything was perfectly clean. During our 4 day stay, we could always park near the street door. There’s one flight of wide stairs for carrying luggage down and back up. Town is only a short walk away, with a Netto supermarket among the first shops you reach. Altogether, absolutely superb.

A really well thought out guesthouse, and the best place we stayed on our trip around Iceland. It was roomy and comfortable.

The apartment was fantastic, with good facilities and all kinds of seasonings. The location was good too, and the hostess was helpful and friendly. Superb!
