Blue Mountain Apartments by Heimaleiga

The apartment itself was spacious and could have been lovely if it had been looked after. Instead, the floor was filthy, the parquet was swollen as if there had been flooding, and parts of the walls were missing from knocks. The chairs had food all over them, the sofa was stained and dirty, and the small bathroom had a moldy shower. The whole building was filthy too. It's a block of tourist apartments with key access and no reception or staff working there. I didn't see anyone cleaning the facilities during the five days we stayed. The walls were battered and full of holes, and there were balls of dirt in the hallways that stayed there the whole time. The washer and dryer area was also in terrible, very dirty condition. There's a lot of traffic and noise in the area, so you can't open the windows.

The views are outstanding and the location is good. There's a bakery across the road that's well worth a visit. My room was okay, but someone in our party had the misfortune of staying on the second floor above the gym. Early in the morning, loud music and the noise of weights and machines made it extremely noisy there. The main concern was the fire alarm, which went off on two of our three nights. It seemed to be triggered by someone cooking or smoking in their room. Anyone can apparently switch it off downstairs, where there's a key in the alarm and instructions. That might seem fine until there's an actual fire, then who knows what happens.

We arrived for check-in at 3 pm and found a disgusting room that hadn't been cleaned. It smelled like a frat house. When I called the number they provided, they said they'd been told earlier in the day about the delay. It would've been okay if they'd let us know, but they hadn't. They wouldn't offer anything except sending cleaners as soon as possible and letting us leave our luggage in the apartment while they worked. We had to wait on the steps and in the lobby for over two hours while the cleaners got the apartment ready. They did an amazing job, but by then we'd been without sleep for nearly 20 hours. If we'd been told earlier that the room wouldn't be ready, we could've made other arrangements instead of sitting around in the building. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience for us.

The corner studio was cozy, with a great view of a lake and lots of storage. The bed and sofa sleeper were comfortable, and the kitchenette had a stove, oven, fridge and microwave. There was plenty of parking, and the staff were friendly and helpful when I got in touch. I'd highly recommend staying here, and I'll come back on my next visit!
