Grund Cabin makes a peaceful place to get away from city life, with mountain and river views all around. It’s very cozy inside, and the modern amenities made our stay comfortable. A magical spot for anyone wanting a quiet, authentic experience in Iceland, especially if you love being out in nature.

You can spot the Northern Lights from this cabin on a clear evening, since it’s away from artificial light. It’s between Selfoss and Vik, just off the main road. The bedrooms are snug and could be warmer, but the living area is very warm and has all the modern conveniences, including Wifi, Smart TV, a coffee maker, and a kettle. The cabin is very well appointed, and communication with the owner was great. Highly recommended.

I still enjoyed the stay, even though there were a few things that bothered me. The place was large and set among farms, which I liked, but the shower and bathtub were on opposite sides of the cottage. It was hard to find when we got close, and the tub had a lot of Chlorine in it. What concerned me most was that the locks didn't work, so the door was basically open to anyone.
