The shared kitchen was a highlight. It had everything we needed to cook, and we enjoyed meeting travelers from around the world there. Our family room had an unforgettable oceanfront view when we woke up, and the guesthouse was spotless, quiet, and clearly well cared for. The beds were incredibly comfortable, too. The setting is beautiful, with hikes and waterfalls only a short drive away, so it worked really well as a base for exploring. Staff were kind and welcoming. We're grateful to the front desk team and the manager for making everything go smoothly. We loved our stay and would absolutely come back.

We only learned after arriving that the bathrooms and showers were shared with other guests, when it was too late to find somewhere else. We had booked two “Twin Rooms with Sea View,” relying on the listing. In the description, there was no mention of a shared bathroom or shower, and the facilities section just said “Shower.” A reasonable guest could take that to mean the room had its own shower. Guests should know that both the toilets and showers are shared with strangers, despite what the listing led us to expect. Clear information about such basic facilities is essential before booking. The omission, whether deliberate or careless, is unacceptable and undermines trust. Under EU consumer protection rules, including Directive (EU) 2019/2161, providers must clearly and accurately disclose important service features, such as whether bathrooms and showers are private or shared. Leaving that out may be a misleading omission, which EU law prohibits. Travelers deserve complete and honest details before they book.

The entrance is up some stairs at the back of the building. Inside, the hostel was very clean, including the bedroom, toilets, and showers, so I have no complaints. The kitchen was well equipped and even had an oven, which you don't always find in Iceland guesthouses. We stayed here after whale watching and visiting Kirkjufell. It's right in central Olafsvik.

Tina deserves a special mention. She chatted with us, took us to a spot to see the northern lights, and helped whenever we had an issue, at any hour. The service was really perfect. The staff were friendly and sociable, and the guesthouse itself was amazing, with spacious shared areas and clean bedrooms.

We had a great view of the sunset in olafsvik, and could even see the northern lights from our room. Check-in worked perfectly, and they let us keep using the parking lot after check-out. The kitchen had everything we needed and lots of tables, and there were enough bathrooms and toilets. Everything was so clean and the guesthouse was really nice. was great
