Höfn Hotel

The bed was super comfortable, but there’s no elevator. I was dragging my luggage upstairs after hours of hiking and driving, and the gentleman at reception oddly told me, “you can do it.” Our tour company hadn’t told us the hotel had stairs. If you’re vegan, you won’t find breakfast options here. It was just tomato, red pepper, orange juice, or coffee.

We stayed for two nights and loved the hotel’s homely feel. The room was very clean, had a great bathroom, and looked out over the mountains. Breakfast was plentiful, with both hot and cold options, and the staff were helpful and extremely polite. They even gave us a little milk for tea. There are no lifts, so guests need to carry their luggage to their floor. We were on the third floor, but reception offered to help. We’d definitely come back to Hotel Hofn if we return to Hofn.

We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Dinner was à la carte, and every dish we tried was excellent, better than expected. The buffet breakfast was very good too, and I especially liked the sausages. We stayed one night at the end of the year during a South Coast tour. The staff were friendly, the bathroom was clean and well maintained, and the room was comfortable. We couldn’t find the heater at first because it was hidden behind the curtains, so the room felt cold, but once we found it, everything was fine.

The carrot cake at breakfast was awesome, and there was homemade cake too, which was a nice surprise. Our room was large because of our booking plan, and we were very happy with it. It was a bit dated, but very clean and at a relatively high standard despite some mixed reviews. Thank you!
