A really lovely mountain setting with quiet surroundings. The host was kind and made a point of introducing himself to everyone, then showing us the hostel amenities. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

For a hostel, the standard is really high. The kitchen is big and fully equipped, with a spacious dining room, free coffee and tea, and a large fridge. There's also a lounge with a comfortable couch. The bunk-bed rooms are on the small side, but clean and fine for a night. The only minor issue was that the shower drain wasn't working well.
The hostel made a great base for travelling around, and check-in and checkout were easy. Our room was tiny, as in lots of hostels, but we were only there to sleep, so it didn't bother us. The kitchen had everything we needed, there were no waits for the bathroom, and the living room was comfortable. Bjarni is a nice person, too. Sending our best wishes from Moscow!
The kitchen had everything we needed, and we were glad to have a nap in the sitting room. A few friends and I rented two rooms and had the place to ourselves, which made for a great stay. I imagine it could feel noisy and cramped if it were full or there were other guests around.
The location is great, and the rooms and beds were fine for our one-night stay. The problem was how close the kitchen and dining room are to the bedrooms, with doors that barely block sound. After 11 PM, a couple cooked and washed dishes, and I could hear every noise. For some reason they also scraped the hob. The owner should install better sound-blocking doors or stop kitchen use after 10 PM.
