We booked two nights after reading the glowing reviews, but the gentleman who greeted us said the house was under renovation. The bathrooms, reached through a shared hallway, were being worked on too. He sleeps naked, he said, which could be awkward for guests like him. One ground-floor apartment was being renovated, and the apartment where our host lives had no flooring. Our room was upstairs. The kitchen had been removed, and there wasn't even a shelf for our luggage, though the double shower was pointed out to us several times. Heavy rain kept us, as cycle tourists, from going out the next day. When it finally cleared, the host offered us his car, explaining that he had bought it to transport dogs. That evening the temperature had dropped dramatically, so I asked for blankets. They weren't available because they were vacuum-packed. Instead, he suggested I warm up with my husband. Fine, we'd use towels. That's the solution, either wash or keep warm. In short, don't go until the renovations are finished and our host has gone to Mexico, as he said he would.

The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Maria Cristina prepared an excellent dinner of Venetian dishes and their own local produce, with help from Mario. My husband and I stayed for one night, and our room was spacious, super cozy, and tastefully decorated. We'll be back soon!

Cristina welcomed and looked after my dog Leo and me with such simplicity and discretion. Along with Mario, she has made a gorgeous home feel peaceful and family-like, with tasteful, harmonious furnishings, plenty of light, and a very clean, quiet feel. I loved the wholesome food they produce naturally, and the dishes were unusual and tasty. Leo had lots of room and a lawn to stretch out on happily. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to old friends. Maybe we'll come back!

The welcome was five-star, especially thanks to wonderful Cristina. The property, location, rooms, and bathrooms were all excellent. It's a peaceful countryside gem, just steps from the center of Abano and 10 km from Padua. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Padua or the Euganean Hills. Everything was wonderful.
