Breakfast was a real highlight, with a buffet of fresh, tasty choices each morning. Malavoglia Inn Hotel is also just a short walk from the Mediterranean Sea and places like Castello Normanno. In my room, I had a fridge, a safe, and a kettle with the essentials. It was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped, and the staff were welcoming and ready to help from the moment I arrived. I had a wonderful stay in Catania and would happily come back.

The hotel is in a pretty good spot, though there’s no sea view since another block of buildings sits between it and the beach. It was fully renovated in 2020 and feels new, with cleaning done well and the whole place kept very neat. Breakfast was generous and tasty, including scrambled eggs and bacon. You can reserve basement parking for an extra fee, but the ramp down is unusually steep and the garage itself is tight.

We only stayed two nights, but it was a comfortable visit. This is a modern, very well run hotel used for business too, with conference facilities. The staff were professional, welcoming, and excellent, and dinner was perfect. We were there as tourists, visiting Etna and walking by the local beach. I appreciated the advice to take the highway toward Palermo. Mille Grazie.

The desk was staffed around the clock, which made everything easy, and we never ran into any problems. Simone at the bar was generous with the drinks, always smiling, and even remembered my name. The room was clean, and the maids were careful and considerate. Our air conditioning didn’t work, possibly because it was a February trip to the Acis and a seasonal issue. We were there for Marti Gras, enjoyed the festivities, and the hotel is only a short step from the water. Breakfast eggs were good enough that we went back for seconds, which is unusual for hotels. What a weekend.
