It’s a lovely place to relax, with a wonderful balcony view, and just a few minutes’ walk to the sea. Mimmo was amazing, explaining everything and being so friendly and helpful. That personal touch is a big difference from a hotel. Thanks for a wonderful time.

The place was spotless, and breakfast was generous. Each morning the owner, Ing. Mimmo, brought what guests had ordered, with granita in plenty of flavors, pastries, fresh and dried fruit, coffee, and cappuccino. There’s parking below and a private underground road leading to the sea. From the terrace, you can look out over the sea on one side and see Etna in the distance on the other.

We really regretted not staying here instead of central Catania. Our overnight stop in Acitrezza was a spontaneous change of plan, and it turned out much better than we expected. The sea view and balcony are fantastic, and the room, bathroom, and kitchen were all spotless. The bed is firm, and I woke up feeling rested. Mr. Emmo doesn't speak English, but Google Translate made it easy to communicate. Breakfast was another highlight: Emmo brought sweet pastries, coffee, fruit, and gratina. I'm usually cautious about unfamiliar food, but I tried lots of things on this trip and was glad I did. The only thing we didn't like was that only the host is allowed to use the kitchen. We often rent homes so we can buy local ingredients and cook a meal ourselves, which is part of how we enjoy the food of a country. Aside from that kitchen rule, the view, breakfast, and cleanliness were excellent. Bus 534 connects the center of Catania with the area. For swimming in the sea, the spot by Aci Trezza castle (Castello Normanno - Svevo di Aci Castello) was recommended.
