The beach towns were lovely, and I would return to southern Italy. I'd also come back here just to try more of the chef's food. The hotel's strongest points for me were the meals and service. Breakfast was good, especially the unbelievable croissants. The meats, cheeses, pastries, and freshly made bread were all delicious. The chef was spectacular. My room was fine overall, with a comfortable bed made up fresh every day and plenty of closet space, though the shower was tiny. It was also very accessible. The spa and pool were spectacular. I wasn't used to a sulfur pool, but I understand it's healthy. There were plenty of reclining chairs, and people were kind even though I didn't speak the language. I also had an excellent massage at a very fair price, and the masseuse was very good. I only wish the hotel were nearer to the beach. Public transportation was dismal, so if you're coming to southern Italy for the beach, you'll need a car or another way to get around. Getting from the train to the hotel was the hardest part of my trip. I should have contacted the hotel, since they probably could have sent someone to pick me up. That was my mistake, and it's what I'd suggest doing.
