The rooms were clean and comfortable, with bedding and towels provided, and there was a nice terrazzo. It was easily the cheapest place I found in Randazzo, which we appreciated while walking the Via Fabaria and looking for lower cost accommodation. We were unlucky with the other guests, who argued loudly late into the night and kept knocking on our closed door until we said we were trying to sleep. That may just have been bad luck with fellow travellers. The kitchen situation was less pleasant. You need express permission before using the kitchen or its equipment. When we used it without asking, the proprietor yelled at us. I suggested putting up a sign to tell foreign tourists the kitchen isn’t for B&B guest use, so hopefully there won’t be another misunderstanding. At €65, we expected a better level of service.

Adrano is worth a visit, with a museum in the castle just a short walk from the apartment. We found this place by chance while looking for somewhere to stay before visiting Etna, and the owner was a phenomenal host. The city center is close, the rooms are clean, and breakfast was served on a big deck. At night, we were able to see a lava flow at Etna.

We stayed for just two nights while visiting Etna, and the owner was lovely and helpful. For a reasonable fee, she even drove us to the start of the Etna excursion. Our three-person room opened onto a huge rooftop terrace. Such a nice place to stay!
