Best Western Hotel Garda

I stayed for three nights on a school trip, and this hotel was awful. The rooms look all right at first, but they’re tiny, with nowhere to put a suitcase. We had no electricity the first night, and the appliances barely worked. My room’s hairdryer was broken, as were most of my friends’ hairdryers. In another room, plugging in a kettle blew the fuses. The air conditioning wouldn’t hold its temperature, which kept rising, and there was no way to adjust it. On the second night, I turned on the heater. Within ten minutes, a yellow puddle had formed on the floor because it was leaking. A friend helped reduce the leak, but after housekeeping came the next day, the fix had been undone and the puddle was back. We asked again and someone came to work on it, though it still wasn’t fully fixed. The meals were another problem. Breakfast had very little choice, no hot food or fruit, and they didn’t replenish what ran out. Dinner was two courses and dessert, but pasta was served every day with different sauces. The first night’s meat and potatoes were hard, and the dessert was very sweet. On the second night, the cutlet was undercooked, with red meat and unmelted cheese. It seemed to have been bought ready-made. After dinner, 10 of my 15 friends said their stomachs hurt. That doesn’t seem normal. The potatoes looked exactly like the previous day’s, too. After one of our chaperones complained, we were promised a surprise for the next day. Instead, we got the same pasta and meat with something drizzled over it that looked like wine but seemed more like syrup. The surprise was a small slice of pizza for four people, also apparently bought from a shop. Service was poor as well. We had to ask three times before anyone responded to our request for water. Most staff at least answered, even if they didn’t bring it; one didn’t respond at all. Food took a very long time to arrive, and there seemed to be only about four staff members at most. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It certainly doesn’t deserve three stars.
