The drive up can be tricky, since some streets are extremely narrow, so take a smaller car. Once you’re there, the views are worth it. I also enjoyed exploring the old city and the castle, with its fantastic outlook toward Etna.

The pool photos gave the wrong impression. The water was such a vivid green and so dirty that we didn’t go in. We’d hoped this would be the highlight of our stay, but a party was still going on extremely loudly until 2 a.m. We only heard about it shortly before our booking, and staff assured us it would stop by midnight. They seemed bothered by us rather than showing the warm hospitality we’d found elsewhere in Sicily. It ruined our night and our experience of the Sicilian mountains. I wouldn’t stay here for a peaceful mountain break.

Mario was a very welcoming host. The place is amazing, with equally amazing views. Highly recommended.

Our room looked out over the pool and the valley below. The staff were super friendly, and the location high on a mountain was amazing, with Etna on the horizon and a big lake down below.

Everything was beyond what I expected, from the view and staff to breakfast and the spa. There’s also a hidden Spa that could win an award. The restaurant opens only on weekends, so give it a try. If you need a break from a busy life and want to enjoy some calm, this is the place to go. It felt like a dream come true.
