A lovely spot surrounded by nature, just right for a few romantic days in the mountain air. Claudio was kind, attentive, and thoughtful about the details. The room had every comfort and service, and the location between Agnone and Capracotta is handy for getting to cross-country skiing and other winter sports. We’ll definitely return! One tip: use Claudio’s directions to reach the property, not Google Maps.

Claudio invited us to share a glass of wine by the fireplace that evening. We had a really pleasant time, and his stories were inspiring. I’d love to come back for a weekend at his farmhouse and spend more time with him. I was looking for a place to stay in Agnone during the Docciata celebrations, and Claudio Chevalier’s B&B was the only option available. Luckily, it turned out to be fantastic for me. It’s an old farmhouse that’s been partly renovated, with plenty of work still to do. The place felt welcoming, wonderful, and almost fairytale-like, full of life and history. There are trinkets and antiques from all over Italy and other continents, including Peru, and everything I looked at seemed to have a story. At this time of year it was decorated with Christmas lights, a nativity scene, and a tree. People who are used to luxury might not like it, but if you value simplicity and authenticity, this is the place. Just don’t take the Google Maps road from Agnone. It’s in terrible condition and dangerous. Follow Claudio’s directions, as I did.

The farmhouse is beautiful, from the architecture to the furnishings, and Claudio has done a great job preserving its rustic feel. Breakfast was plentiful. My dog had a wonderful time, and meeting Claudio was part of the experience too. Through him, I got a glimpse of social life in Agnone and upper Molise, an extraordinary region.

The farmhouse is restored and furnished with real taste and creativity, and feels very original. It’s comfortable, with care given to every detail, from the bedroom and lovely bathroom to the kitchenette guests can use. Claudio is helpful and friendly, the icing on the cake. Breakfast is generous and delicious, with jams he makes himself.

The owner might call it “spartan,” but we thought it was fantastic. It’s a rustic farmhouse between Agnone and Capracotta, quiet and away from the bustle. A peaceful place to spend time if you love animals and traditional values.
