Borgo dei Vigneti

A SATURDAY BIRTHDAY PARTY I WOULDN’T REPEAT I went to my sister-in-law’s birthday party on Saturday. The place might look nice, though it’s a bit shabby, but our experience with the people running it was terrible. As her brother-in-law, I knew what had been arranged. The owner had offered a buffet suitable for an 18th birthday, and we’d been promised plenty of food and more. The owner joked that if we managed to finish it all, they’d bring more, so we expected the food to be generous. Instead, what arrived was just what had been agreed, and even that was poor compared with what had been described. The dining room was sour, the pasta tasted like it had been made the day before, and the beef was gone within half an hour. Many people were left hungry. The drinks arrangement was also different from what the owner had agreed to: there was no sangria, and the promised Firriato white wine was replaced with Branciforte red. Each person got one glass at the table, so it seemed we were meant to make do with water, that wine, and a glass of sparkling wine brought by the birthday girl. When we complained, the owners were rude and insulted us, saying the place was too refined for our tastes. Maybe we complained because we’re used to more refined venues? Better places aren’t hard to find 😂 I hope this feedback leads them to improve how they treat customers and the quality of a venue that could be much better appreciated.

The next morning, the quiet countryside and greenery were a real pleasure, and we’d had a room where we could stay overnight. Our wedding at the Borgo dei Vigneti was wonderful, with every detail taken care of. The staff looked after us and responded to all our needs, and the organization was excellent. We were welcomed like family, and the food was exquisite, especially the tender, tasty meat. I highly recommend it for a fairytale wedding, with friendly service and everything you need. The best 👌

The entertainment was pleasant when I visited. The venue is spacious, with nice rustic decor, and the food tastes good, though it didn’t stand out. The portions were small, and the simple meal left me eating almost by inertia. It wasn’t very clean during my visit, and the staff seemed inexperienced and disorganized. There are better options. The kitchen would need to improve if the place wants to get better.

The staff made us feel special with their friendliness and helpfulness, and the atmosphere was magical. I celebrated my birthday in a magnificent place, with a huge room and food that was both excellent and plentiful. Highly recommended for banquets, and it would work just as well for a simple dinner.
