Hotel Del Viale

The staff were friendly, and there’s free street parking. It’s a handy central spot for a short visit. The place is a little dated, but it’s been kept in good condition.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast had lots to choose from. The desk agent was friendly and helpful. We’d misunderstood the on-site parking note: you actually need to find a space on the street. Luckily, we found one close by. The location was good, too.

The location worked well for us, close to the municipal bus stop at Agrigento Centrale train station for rides to the Archeological Museum and the Valle dei Templi. We also liked being near Agrigento’s historic center. We parked in a decent spot and left the car there for two days, since finding parking among the narrow, angled streets and alleys can be tricky. On weekends, noise from nearby Piazza Cavour can carry late into the night. It’s a small, pleasant hotel. Our basic room had the bedroom essentials and A/C, and the bathroom was clean and fine. Breakfast had plenty of variety and was very good.

The view along the main boulevard stretches over the valley and all the way to the sea. The hotel is also well placed, near both the train and bus stations. We only had a couple of days, and the clouds and rain stayed with us the whole time, unfortunately. We’d come back for another visit. I won’t forget the Twizy electric car, which let us get around Agrigento and explore inside the city.
