La Nicuzza-#historicalhouse

Our two-night stay in this vacation rental was a negative experience, and I wouldn't recommend it. We trusted the positive reviews, but they didn't match what we found. I hope this helps other travelers. The location is strategic, just outside the historic center and convenient for exploring the city. Free parking nearby is hard to find, though, so we often had to use the paid station parking, which is expensive. The host was absent; we only got entry and tourist tax instructions by text and never met in person. The apartment was tiny and uncomfortable, with stairs to get in and more inside. The narrow entrance has two small doors that both have to open fully just to get through. The kitchen was inadequate, with only two burners, dusty utensils covered in pantry fluff, and very few plates and glasses left out, which were dirty. Breakfast was disappointing too: only low-quality packaged croissants, one coffee pod per person per day, and juices from a brand I didn't know. Cleanliness was poor, with a used sponge left out. The towels were very old and cheap, and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom had no bidet, just a showerhead with pressure that couldn't be controlled, plus a tiny sink that splashed water everywhere and a shower with rusty parts. At night, the nearby area seemed unsafe to us because of a neighborhood frequented by immigrants.
