Locanda degli Scrittori

We had a great stay. The rooms are modern and well equipped, with a small private garden area, and breakfast was superb on the upstairs terrace overlooking Agrigento. It was easy to find, with free street parking and an excellent pizzeria at the top of the road. A very friendly and helpful gentleman runs this small place. It’s on what seems to be a private road, and the birthplace of a famous Italian author is at the end.

Modern rooms, a very helpful owner and a really good breakfast. Excellent accommodation, I’d definitely recommend it.

The quiet countryside setting made Locanda degli Scrittori feel wonderfully peaceful, while still being a comfortable distance from amenities and historic sites. Pirandello's house is right next door, and the local beaches are a very short drive away, with spectacular fine sand and clear sea. We stayed for a weekend to see Agrigento’s world-famous temples. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and the mattresses were very comfortable. Angela even got up at 6am each morning to make us fresh local ricotta pastries for breakfast, and we got excellent tips for places to eat nearby. We’d definitely visit again.

Salvatore made us feel so welcome, always ready to help, and we really hope to return soon. The BnB sits among olive trees and greenery in the park where Pirandello’s Childhood house and Grave are located, with the Greek Temples of Agrigento and lovely seaside spots close by. The place is full of thoughtful design details and furnished with care. We loved the terrace, where Salvatore serves a very good breakfast, and the other side was perfect for morning yoga. Such a magical corner of the Agrigento coast.
