San Francesco Resort

We'd be very happy to stay here again. The hotel is quiet and feels quite separate from the noise and activity, even though it's about a kilometer from the village center. There's plenty of parking in a private lot behind electric gates. The building is a converted monastery, with its character still intact alongside modern fittings. Set on a promontory extending into the sea, it has wonderful views over the harbour and seascape. The staff were accommodating, the food and service were excellent, and breakfast had an amazing range, including homemade pastries. Dinner was very good too, either in the beautiful dining room or the larger outside room with an open-air veranda. I couldn't find a fault.

What really made the stay for us was the people. The girls who cleaned, served, and helped were so nice and treated us like VIPs. They made our time around the resort enjoyable, and I'll take that over new furniture any day. The location is great, with a hike down to the beach, abundant free parking, and an easy walk into the centro. It's a good base if you're driving to see bufala farms and beaches. The place and furniture are a bit dated and could use upgrades, but the AC and shower worked well, and our room had room for a couple of big suitcases. The coast views are unbeatable. Comparable views around amalfi, positano, or sorrento would cost four times as much. On future trips to the Med, I'll choose the Cilento coast over the Amalfi coast. It's much better value and more relaxing.

The rooms were spacious and the views were stunning. We also loved the food, and everyone on staff was friendly and attentive. It was a fantastic stay, with a lovely mix of relaxation and charm, and I'd recommend the place to a friend.

We liked this special, beautiful hotel so much that we came back. The view was amazing and the staff were great. We'd recommend it highly, six stars if that were possible!
