On Saturday, June 7, 2014, I arrived with a Booking.com reservation, not just a phone booking, and was told plainly that my room had been given away. Apparently the son had forgotten to cancel it through Booking. No big deal, right? It was 8:30 PM on a Saturday, after I’d travelled from Turin. I hadn’t read the reviews beforehand, but I looked on Monday the 9th out of curiosity and saw that this seems to happen regularly. Knowing it’s happened before doesn’t make me feel better. It worries me that they show so little respect for the people bringing them business.
