Hotel Primula

The rooms were very small and nothing like the pictures, and it was noisy with the train tracks and station right beside the hotel. They don't mention that in the ads on Booking and elsewhere. Breakfast wasn't good, and the woman serving it wasn't nice either. What a welcome: my wife is seven months pregnant, and when she tried to sit on the sofa while I handled the formalities, the woman at reception told her not to because “it’s for guests”. The staff were ridiculous, especially that receptionist. The only good thing was the cleaning staff, who were very kind. As another honest reviewer said, the owners seemed arrogant beyond belief. If you want your holiday spoiled, stay here. Otherwise, take a hike!

Very good service, and the hotel is close to the coast and beach.

Breakfast was included and very generous: focaccia, croissants, two kinds of cake, muffins, cooked ham, salami, cheese, jam, bread, and more. After the first few days, communication improved, and the staff became kinder, friendlier, and more attentive. At first, there were some misunderstandings: we got a double bed despite asking for two separate beds, the towels weren't changed, and the shower gel wasn't replenished. We chose the hotel partly for its fairly convenient position near the public beach by the port, but it sits behind the railway line, so you see and hear the trains. The price was among the lowest, and calling directly instead of booking through Booking saved €100. Room 104 is a bit small for two, with no balcony or mosquito nets. It does have air conditioning, a fan, a fridge, a complimentary 50cl bottle per person, and a small safe. Parking is €10, or you can save money by parking higher up in the Santa Croce area. For a week, the final bill was €472.50, the same by card or cash, plus €5 tourist tax.
