The wine tasting was a perfect match for the menu, and each wine was wonderful in its own right. Staff were highly professional while still accommodating our style. Every course had balanced, nuanced flavors, and from beginning to end the meal was amazing. This is among the very best of the three Michelin-starred restaurants, a truly special place. If you're a serious foodie, I'd absolutely recommend coming. It will be one of the most memorable meals of your life.

Chef Crippa is a master and an artist. This felt like a once-in-a-lifetime meal, and I don't regret a moment of it. The wines were among the most incredible I've ever had, and the wine pairing lifted the appetizers and the card dish to another level. Service at our table was professional, though the start felt a little slow while they took our order and brought the first wine. One awkward moment, speaking as an Italian: the server offered another coffee at 15€ a cup without saying it was complimentary. I joked that of course she'd bring me another since I had to pay, and she seemed embarrassed and didn't handle the comment well. It's a very minor thing, and probably wouldn't bother foreigners, but it felt awkward to an Italian audience.

The food was amazing, but check the bill carefully. I ordered another glass of wine after the sommelier offered Pitasso 2007 and 2021, and I chose the 2021. I even photographed the bottle to review later. At the end, though, the bill listed Pitasso 2007. When I pointed this out, a sommelier came over and said they remembered me ordering the 2021, but both years cost the same, so it was only a description error. The staff asked whether I wanted the bill corrected. I first said it was fine, then thought about how different the wines were in age and wanted the right item listed for my review, so I asked them to fix it. The staff member paused, then walked off hesitantly. A few minutes later he returned and said he'd applied a 25€ discount for the evening. I couldn't tell from the way he explained it whether that was because of the wine's price or an extra discount for some other reason. Suddenly he seemed unable to communicate in English, which was strange after we'd spoken English all evening. Maybe I'd had too much wine. Then I was told the chef wanted to meet us to say thank you, and they gave us snacks to take home. After taking a photo with the chef, I asked again whether the 25€ reduction was for the wine price difference or for some special occasion. Only the third time did they admit they'd charged us incorrectly. On the way home I kept wondering whether the sommelier didn't know the different prices for two differently aged wines, even though this was a by-the-glass wine he presented repeatedly, or whether something else was going on. I know mistakes happen, but so many little things at once in a three-Michelin-star restaurant felt odd.

The bill came to €5,300, and the experience didn't feel worth that price to me. I don't mind paying for excellence, but I wouldn't make a special trip to Piazza Duomo. It might be worth trying if you're already nearby. There were some lovely dishes: the creative local ingredients, vegetable-focused courses, and presentation stood out. The famous 21, 31, 41, 51 salad was a highlight, as were the playful amuse-bouches. The beetroot course and cod were well done, although I did find a small bone in the fish. Desserts were disappointing. We were a family of eight, and I booked dinner last October, excited as someone who often eats at Michelin-starred restaurants, including other three-star places. The operational side let the meal down. A €1,700 minimum beverage spend seemed excessive, especially when we were asked to meet it before ordering food. Service was uneven, with water left unrefilled, incorrect items brought out, and mismatched utensils. The room also felt stuffy and basic, with bright lighting that didn't seem in keeping with a three-star restaurant.
