Grand Hotel Olimpo

We had a great stay and I highly recommend the hotel. Our Classic room was large and clean, and the air conditioning worked amazingly well. The hotel’s location is convenient, and breakfast was plentiful with top-notch ingredients.

It was an okay place, but in my opinion it doesn’t deserve a four-star rating. I was with a large group visiting Alberobello and nearby villages, and the rooms were average. The bathroom hairdryer kept cutting out every five minutes and needed time to cool before it would work again, so drying my hair took forever. Breakfast was really disappointing for a four-star hotel. The next evening, they brought unfinished wine to the table, which was absolutely unacceptable and not at all in keeping with four-star service. My room was too hot, and I had to ask them to switch the air conditioning off completely at the mains.

The customer service was very warm and helpful, and there’s plenty of parking. The air conditioning was ice cold, which you don’t usually get at many hotels in this area. Breakfast was okay, and they did their best to accommodate our specific food requests. It’s a highly recommended base for exploring Puglia, including alberobello, lecce, p o mare, monopoli, bari, and matera. The famous trullis are just a five-minute walk away.

The rooms are large and clean, breakfast is good, and the staff are nice. There’s free parking and it’s a 10-minute walk to the city center.
