Agriturismo Terra del Sole

On my third trip to Italy, this was easily my favorite place to eat. The family did an amazing job with excellent farm-to-table food, and they make pizza the way it's meant to be made. The dishes are local and authentic, and even the bathrooms were extremely clean. I can't imagine finding a better meal anywhere else in Italy.

The views are spectacular, with farm animals nearby, and there's plenty of parking. It's easy to get to, too. The staff are polite and well-mannered, and the prices are fair for the really good food. Portions are generous, so don't make my mistake and order too much. They also make homemade wine. I'd recommend a visit.

We stayed one night on the way to go skiing. This is a very nice bed and breakfast with a wonderful restaurant, set in a quiet spot among fields. Our room was large, with a balcony and kitchenette. The Sondrio outlets and Decathlon are very close by.

It makes a good base for exploring the area, and parking is free with plenty of space. If you can, time your stay for when the restaurant is serving lunch or dinner. The food was fresh and full of flavor, especially the local sciatt and pizzoccheri. The pizzoccheri came in a hot pot, so the cheese stayed warm and melted throughout, among the best we've had in the area. Our room had a cosy, dark decor, and the bed faced snow-capped mountain peaks, a lovely view. The towels and bedding felt fresh from the laundry and luxurious. We liked having two plush pillows each, one firm and one soft. The bathroom was spacious and modern. Breakfast is simple, with cereal, fruit, local pastries, and local dairy, enough to get the day started.
