Al049 Villa Paradiso 12 Posti con Piscina Privata

The house itself is lovely, roomy and clean, and the pool was great. But the facilities didn't feel appropriate for the rental price, and we left feeling as though the owner had tried to keep our deposit. There were eight of us, and we couldn't get access to the cupboard with glasses, cutlery, and plates. The owner came to refill the water, which we hadn't had on the first day and could really have used after the beach, but wouldn't open that cupboard. We were eventually offered two kitchens, one inside and one outside, and had to manage with what was available: eight small mustard glasses for water, cutlery shared around the table, no chopping board, and other gaps. Some beds also had very poor quality bedding. We paid the €250 deposit in cash on arrival. When we left, the owner tried to keep it over a deckchair with a missing bolt. It was indeed damaged, but we hadn't used it, and the deckchairs were poor quality to begin with. We tried to explain, but he wouldn't listen. We had to negotiate, and his manner was close to disrespectful. He threw a pressure washer at our feet to stop us talking and wouldn't answer the phone so he could speak with the woman from the agency. A beautiful house, but a very upsetting way to leave.

A lovely villa, with lots of care given to the details.
