Pension Stern

The only thing I didn’t like was the soft, lifeless pillow on my bed. Otherwise, we had a comfortable, spacious room with a balcony and a view to die for. The balcony’s discreet clothesline was handy. Breakfast was an adequate spread, and they stock quality wines. A simple set-menu dinner was available, but you need to book early. It’s strictly no-frills, though it was great to have after a warm, tiring day of hiking. They don’t advertise a restaurant. The people were warm and hospitable.

Aldino is a beautiful village, with a wonderful church and walking trails. We booked a few days here in August and found the service excellent and friendly. The atmosphere was great, the rooms were very clean, and the food was simple but good. Congratulations to the owners of Pension Stern!

Waking up to the smell of fresh croissants was magical, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The rooms were modern and impeccably organized. We felt at home, which almost understates it. Every little detail was taken care of, nothing out of place, with impeccable cleanliness and a generous breakfast. You can also dine on site, which I recommend for the local dishes, all exquisitely prepared. We appreciated having a garage to leave our motorcycle safely. The staff were incredibly sweet and courteous, pampered us from start to finish, and were ready to meet any need. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, and delicious dinners can be arranged if you ask in advance. Set high above Aldein, the guesthouse is in a stunning spot. The rooms are lovely and the owners very friendly and accommodating. A truly perfect stay, we’d love to return.
