The Smerald

The owner made check-in easy by explaining everything efficiently. The room and shared area were very clean. It’s near the sea, with the centre and bus stops a short walk away. Recommended!

We were there as a couple for four nights in early August. The apartment has two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, plus a shared dining and kitchen area and a small balcony by the entrance. The rooms and common areas were very clean, and the rooms were tidied and cleaned daily. Furnishings are modern, simple, and well equipped. Our room faced the street, so it was a bit quiet. The main downside was the lack of curtains: we couldn’t leave the blinds up without losing privacy. Parking was fairly easy to find nearby, and there are supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants around. The seafront and beach are a short walk away.

The furnishings are simple and modern, and there’s a private bathroom, but the room is only accessible through a French window with a roller shutter. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The sheets were poor quality and worn, with stains on both sides of the pillowcases, and the shower was tiny. The shared entrance had a TV table and stovetop that were really dirty. To top it off, we found a very unwelcome guest: a cockroach. Disgusting.

The host was very friendly and helpful, and the well-furnished room had a private bathroom, air conditioning, and daily housekeeping. It’s in a shared apartment, but the kitchen can’t be used. The bed was uncomfortable, which is a shame, since at the price we paid it would otherwise have deserved five stars.
