For 10 euros, I got to spend three hours bathing and soaking up the sun at this hot spring pool on the Sicilian coast, far from much of anything. The staff were very polite while I tried practicing my Italian, and I had a delightful, stress-free visit to these hot springs of Roman legend. A few things to know: you have to wear a swimming cap, called “cuffio” in Italian. They sell them at the front desk for 2 euros. When I visited on May 4th, 2026, the water wasn’t exactly hot, more comfortably warm. I’d guess around 30°C. The main mineral in the spring is sulfur, so the water smells strongly of eggs. That might bother some people, though I didn’t mind, and the smell washes off easily in the shower.
