Accampamento Rurale Macaria

Amazing place. It has the camping atmosphere with the comfort of a B&B! Perfect for discovering the Salento region: 20 minutes from Gallipoli and 45 from Otranto. It's great for children too, who fall in love with the huge tents!

Great place. We had a very pleasant stay.

We spent 12 days here, from August 11th to 23rd, and it was a fantastic place. It's very basic, which is better because the nature is beautiful, but nothing is missing. There's everything you might need: pots, pans, glasses, mugs, cups, a moka pot, various utensils, and more. In the common area, there are three kitchens, two large refrigerators with a labeled compartment for each guest, a labeled container, a barbecue, firewood, and more. What impressed me most is that they even provide soap and sponges. I brought lots of things I didn't need. They told me everything was there, but I didn't trust them 😅. They were right, everything is there, including a laundry room with a washing machine. The bathrooms are always clean and have showers, hand soap, and toilet paper. The staff are always attentive. If anything is missing, just ask and they'll be very helpful. It's a very quiet place, with games for children, foosball, ping pong, hammocks everywhere, and shared relaxation areas with benches, tables, and chairs. There's also a small bar that has a bit of everything and serves food. In my opinion, they make the best pasticciotto. The tents are spaced well apart, so everyone has plenty of room. My dog had a lot of fun chasing lizards 🤣🤣🤣. We arrived at 5:00 PM, and I was worried because it was very hot and a tent can't really be fitted with air conditioning. But strangely enough, and I think it's because of the area, there's a lot of wind, and you sleep wonderfully. Even though it was 40 degrees during the day, we always slept well at night. The location is ideal for visiting different beaches, places, and cities. The two wonderful people who created this place, Rocco and Giovanni, are always available and attentive to your needs without ever being intrusive. They're lovely, sociable, and good company. We played lots of cards, and they often offered us something, which was very kind. Since they have a farm, you can buy their oil and other products. A wonderful holiday ☺️

The campsite is very well run and provides every amenity, including a kitchen, washing machine, dishes, and refrigerator. The tents are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, making for a peaceful stay. Each tent has its own shelf and refrigerator space in the kitchen. There's an indoor bar for breakfast, a ping pong table, and a foosball table. Everything is perfectly organized. The bathrooms and showers are exemplary. The owners are extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommended.
