Benny Bio Hotel

It was a pleasure to welcome you back to Hotel Benny for a second visit. Thank you for the lovely evenings, especially the delicious dinners and desserts.

The desserts were really good, and the food gets a 5/10 from me: sometimes it’s very good, other times it’s bland. The rooms are neat and clean; staff take out the rubbish and make the beds each day. I’d recommend it.

I won’t stay here again. At checkout, a staff member tried to charge me a second “local tax.” I’d refused the local-benefits app because I only needed a bed before leaving Italy the next morning, but they still wanted to bill me for the benefit. I had to argue about it for quite a while. When I asked questions, staff seemed annoyed and weren’t very friendly or patient. They had an explanation for everything. I couldn’t use the spa at all: it was closed when I arrived and still wasn’t open when I left. In my view, the evening opening hours are too short. Reception said it takes all day to clean. I suspect they mainly use the spa to advertise the hotel, while giving guests very little chance to use it. I’d reserved a parking space when booking, but nothing had been set aside. We were lucky to arrive on a motorcycle and were “allowed” to park beside the hotel’s car. Meanwhile, another guest had one car taking up two spaces, even though there are only a few. The receptionist didn’t seem to care. They also tried to charge me twice for the local tax. Nice....

The stay got off to a rough start, but I came away feeling much better. The staff took our feedback into account, which was the best part for me. There was a wider selection of fresh vegetables, and they were still available near the end of breakfast. Dinner became simpler and tastier 🙂, and you could ask for an extra portion. Since drinks have to be ordered from the bar, I still think some basics, even water, should be available. We had a very positive experience at Benny Bio, and I can recommend staying there.
