I gave two stars because the location is strategic, practically in the historic center, and parking is easy enough to find. The rest was disappointing. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable, the cleaning was patchy, and many details had been overlooked. The bathroom has plasterboard walls and no soundproofing, so when one person uses it and the other is in the room, every little noise carries. Breakfast is meant to be at a bar outside the building, supposedly on Via F. Nitti, but my GPS showed it 900 meters away, a walk from the property.

Breakfast is served at a nearby café, and parking is on the blue lines behind the building, just outside the city walls. It costs 50 cents an hour from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm every day except holidays. The B&B is right in the heart of Altamura, only steps from the center. The rooms are new, comfortable, and well maintained, with air conditioning and a minibar. One heads-up: there’s no sign outside, so I’m adding a photo of the entrance for anyone else who has trouble finding it.

The central location is great, but parking nearby takes ages to find. Inside, the furnishings are awful, and the mattress is best left unmentioned. Since the place was made from an old house, it really needs a more modern look.

I paid a lot for a really shoddy place, and the owner is hard to reach. I asked for a receipt for what was basically an under-the-table payment, but I'm still waiting. The owner should find a different line of work.
