Hotel Svevia

It was okay, really, not too bad.

The staff were kind and very helpful, but that wasn't enough to make up for the rest. After a 10-hour flight, I arrived expecting to check into a three-star hotel and was sent, without any warning, to a B&B 300 meters away instead. It had fewer amenities, though the price was the same, and its elevator only reached one floor. Breakfast was sparse, mostly prepackaged food, with no savory choices at all. I can't say much about the hotel itself since I never stayed there, and that wasn't my decision.

The location in the heart of Altamura is excellent, and having parking is handy in an area where finding a space is, to say the least, impossible. The rooms, though, have seen better days and need significant renovation. They were clean enough for a one-night stay, so perhaps fine for travelers in a hurry. The food was terrible, and the price felt exorbitant for what was offered. There are much better options in Altamura.

Angela was excellent in every way, the backbone of the hotel, and her recommendation helped us with our stay. We were glad to be hosted here. We were told the building would be renovated for 2021, and some work should make it even more pleasant.
