La Colomba B&B

I had paid for two nights, but my daughter was in hospital so I couldn't arrive on the first night. I told the host I'd come for the second day and night, which was already paid for. After travelling to Italy, I arrived at her door and she wouldn't let me in. She messaged that she'd cancelled because I hadn't checked in the first night, and said someone else was in my room. It seems she'd booked it twice and been paid twice, then refused to refund me for the night she wouldn't let me stay. This was neither professional nor kind, and I hope nobody else has the same experience. The host was very unfriendly.

We're a couple from Salerno and had a really nice stay at this B&B. The room was spotless, and the staff were very friendly.

The rooms were clean and tidy, though the property itself isn't new. We rented the whole of B&B La Colomba for December 30th and 31st, hoping to spend New Year's Eve away with our family, including two children. The owner only had the room heating on for three hours before bedtime, so it was freezing after that. We also wanted to hang out and play together in the shared kitchen, but there was no heat there. After asking several times, he turned it on for one hour, which didn't really help. Although there's a kitchen, he specifically told us not to use it. He only said this when we were there, not when we booked.

The owners were helpful and friendly, and we had an excellent Italian breakfast. The rooms were spacious and clean, with en suite bathrooms. It was a wonderful stay at this B&B in central Altamura. Well done!
